Happy Father's Day from ImageThink!

Happy Father’s Day from ImageThink!

June 19, 2016

ImageThink graphic recording wants to wish you all a happy Father’s Day! Enjoy our team’s reflections, memories, & stories… Gerald Anthony Willems Jr, by Heather When I was a kid, we answered the phone, “Willems Painting and Decorating, how may I help you?” My father was an entrepreneur and from him I learned many lessons that I apply to ImageThink everyday:   1) Always do your best. Quality first. 2) Be a leader in your field. Master your area of expertise. 3) Relationships matter. Maintain good relationships with your customers. If they like your work, others will hear about it. 4) Manage […]

Folks We Admire: Tim Gunn

Folks We Admire: Tim Gunn

June 8, 2016

Tim Gunn is a mentor on fashion reality show Project Runway, bestselling author, activist, consultant, actor, etc… but I admire him also because he is a gentleman. I don’t mean he plays a gentleman on TV; he is a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago & I was moved by how welcoming, friendly & polite he was. Impeccably dressed, even off screen, and very, very tall – though I would describe him as a gentle giant. Hearing his journey of being a fish-out-of-water in his youth, to finding his passion at art school, […]

ImageThinker's Pro Wrestling Road Not Taken

ImageThinker’s Pro Wrestling Road Not Taken

January 19, 2016

Written by: James Lake, Graphic Recorder at ImageThink (@imagethink) At ImageThink’s off-site this year, Heather Willems asked me what career path I would have chosen if I wasn’t graphic recording for ImageThink: Pro Wrestler! This may come as a shock, especially to anyone that has seen me in person, but it’s true. I’ve been a fan of sports entertainment (mainly WWE) since I was about 8 years old, and over the years my friend Lucas and I have gone to live events, autograph signings, and watched countless wrestling shows. If I did not love drawing as much as I do, I would […]

Happy World Sketchnote Day!

Happy World Sketchnote Day!

January 11, 2016

ImageThink utilizes sketchnotes for client work, training, and our own personal notes. We love sketchnoter Mike Rohde, and saw that today is World Sketchnote Day. Our graphic recorder James Lake drew up visual notes from the past day, including the Golden Globes, Alice Paul, and David Bowie. Below are some more samples of our sketchnotes in action. Happy World Sketchnote Day, everyone!

Ringing in 2016 with Our Newest Graphic Recorders!

Ringing in 2016 with Our Newest Graphic Recorders!

January 5, 2016

ImageThink graphic recording is happy to welcome Ona Rygelis and Derrick Dent to the team! They are our newest graphic recorders and spent the day researching the history of graphic recording. They found that taking sketch notes helped them retain, prioritize, and use the information better in the creation of their images. They both chose nonlinear compositions and made use of containers and arrows. Most importantly, they learned a lot and had fun while doing it! Interested in ImageThink? Visit our Services page for more information or drop us a line at [email protected] to learn how we may support your next event!

Graphic Recording for Jerry Rice – Lysol Healthy Habits

December 22, 2015

ImageThink Enters the Wide World of Sports  All of us at ImageThink graphic recording believe in living healthy lifestyles, and we were delighted to support Lysol’s Healthy Habits Campaign. Five student athletes were selected from around the country to come together and be coached by Jerry Rice (one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history). Our graphic recorder Greta captured the advice that Jerry Rice was giving each of the students. Life Imitates Art Since he was actively coaching as they were playing their sport (he coached 2 volleyball players, 2 track athletes, and one soccer player- all given about 15 min […]

Folks We Admire: Tracy Chou

Folks We Admire: Tracy Chou

December 16, 2015

Tracy Chou, head software engineer at Pinterest, has an impressive resume.  She began her work in the tech field by interning at Facebook and Google, before taking a leading role at Quora, the site that promises its users “the best answer to any question.” Her list of achievements, however, includes one more major bullet point: making public the massive imbalance of men to women in Silicon Valley.  The tech world is overwhelmingly male, with many companies having only around 10-20% of their workforce represented by women. After the October 2013 Grace Hopper Celebration (named after the great female American computer scientist), where she found others sharing […]

John Dies at the End - Film Review + Analysis

John Dies at the End – Film Review + Analysis

October 20, 2015

[email protected] came out a few years ago, I recently saw it again and I have to tell you, I found it quite moving. It’s also perfect for Halloween. On the surface, it’s complete insanity! David and John absorb a fantastical substance (“soy sauce”), which bombards them with information and visions from all over the universe, then they’re recruited to save the world from a creature named Korrok. Yet, I think it’s really about David’s great capacity for love. You may have to take a dose of the “soy sauce” to follow me down this explanation, but you’ll live. Platonic: John […]
