How it Works
ImageThink’s core service – graphic recording – is a visual form of note-taking that helps focus discussions, synthesize ideas, and engage teams and audiences.
Sometimes called scribing or sketchnoting, graphic recording is like whiteboarding on turned up to eleven. ImageThink visual strategists are talented, trained artists who listen for and group key ideas, illustrate concepts, and document discussion in an exciting and actionable way.

Extensive research and studies show that as humans, we are wired to think and communicate visually. “A picture is worth a thousand words” isn’t just an idiom, its science!
On a reptilian brain level, people understand pictures better than words, and can ideate, iterate, and innovate better when working visually.
APPLICATIONS

Internal Meetings
Some meetings need more than a spiral notebook. Whether it’s a strategy session, corporate restructure, annual board retreat, or new product concepting, visual notes keep the team on track. Ideas and discussions are memorialized, and attendees leave with aligned and inspired, with clear action steps and owners.

Pitch Sessions
The importance of creating a memorable pitch cannot be understated. With in-person and remote capabilities, ImageThink provides visual support to impress clients, grow accounts, deepen relationships, and win more business by leaving them with something to keep you top of mind.

Experiential Activations
Whether it’s a tradeshow booth, conference sponsorship activation, or company retreat, ImageThink graphic recording and social listening murals can liven up transitional spaces by providing a focal point, engagement moment, or experiential opportunity.

Journey Mapping
Visualizing insights from patients, students, clients, and customers inspires connections and promotes deeper interest and discussion. People ignore what they don’t see and too often those we serve feel ignored or unheard; ImageThink can make their stories and experiences both visual, and visible.
Whenever, wherever

In-Person
Analog on foam core boards using markers or digitally piped into to an onsite AV system, participants can interact with our visual strategists and the art first hand.

Hybrid
Ideal for distributed teams, a visual strategist can join on site or online to stream the visual capture to participants around the globe, at home or in another office.

Remote
For fully remote teams, get the fully digital experience of graphic recording performed over any virtual meeting platform. Visuals can be the spotlight, or shared during breaks.

Our campus constituents are very excited about the work that has taken place between JSU and ImageThink. So much so that departments are still asking about the services and how they can use the services. I make a referral at least once a week and sometimes more.
Frequently Asked Questions
In a presentation, graphic recording increases engagement and memory-retention for the participants. Many people are visual learners, and studies indicate that people remember more information when combined with visuals, especially using mnemonic devices, than via spoken word alone.
During a brainstorm or strategy session, a skilled graphic recorder will synthesize all of the group’s contributions into a coherent visual while revealing connections between ideas that might otherwise have gone unnoticed. This practice promotes creative thinking, collaboration and deeper engagement by creating a collective vision (literally).
Meeting illustration, or graphic recording as we call it, is the real-time translation of conversations or presentations into text and pictures. Graphic recorders do three things simultaneously: they listen for key ideas, synthesize them, and document them in visual form. It gives meeting and conference attendees an opportunity to absorb content on a visual level.
In our ImageThink workshops, we teach several ways of making meetings more productive, including effective whiteboarding techniques, group creativity exercises, and best practices for assigning action items and owners when the meeting is done.
At ImageThink, we price our strategic meeting facilitation according to the nature of your engagement – whether it’s an internal meeting or public conference, for example – and how much support you need. Staffing, time, and materials are all factors in our rate card. Get in touch to discuss how we can help bring your biggest ideas to the surface and we’ll provide you with a custom quote.
