800px-Nate_Silver_2009SXSWi is only a month away, and we couldn’t be more excited to return to Austin, Texas! One speaker we are particularly looking forward to is Nate Silver.  Nate Silver (b. 1978) is an American statistician and writer who analyzes baseball (see Sabermetrics) and elections (see Psephology). He is currently the editor-in-chief of ESPN‘s FiveThirtyEight blog and a Special Correspondent for ABC News. Silver first gained public recognition for developing PECOTA, a system for forecasting the performance and career development of Major League Baseball players, which he sold to and then managed for Baseball Prospectus from 2003 to 2009. Nate Silver is THE statistics guru! IBM-Chi-DMA-5o5-XL Last year at DMA 2013, ImageThink scribed Nate Silver’s powerful presentation on the importance of big data and solid analytics. This year, we’ll be joining him again on stage at SXSWi, Saturday, March 8th at 12:30 – 1:30pm to visually transcribe his talk! 0313_NateSilver-LWe also took visual notes of Nate Silver’s presentation last year at SXSWi ’13. Interested in learning Graphic Recording yourself? At SXSWi, ImageThink will also be hosting and teaching a hands-on workshop, Fear No Marker, Monday, March 10th – sign up here to reserve your spot.
