ImageThink in the desert for CompTIA ChannelCon

August 7, 2014

Those aren’t mirages, they’re ImageThink’s Graphic Recording towers for CompTIA ChannelCon in Phoenix, AZ! From Wikipedia concerning mirages – “A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky. The word comes to English via the French mirage, from the Latin mirari, meaning “to look at, to wonder at”.” These towers are reminiscent of West Mitten at Monument Valley. “Monument Valley 01” by Bernard Gagnon – Own work. Meet the ImageThink Team – Yao Xiao

August 5, 2014

This week, we have our incredibly talented Graphic Recorder: Yao Xiao! Her background is in illustration, which is an essential part of what makes her Graphic Recording so unique. Her work is bold and whimsical. Our newest Graphic Recorder, James Lake, regarded his dual scribing with Yao to be a critical progress point in his training. Yao’s favorite film is Blade Runner. It is a remarkable work of science fiction in every way: production design, costumes, music (by Vangelis), and the script! It is based on the Philip K. Dick story “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”. There are many […]

Training at ImageThink

July 31, 2014

We are serious about training here at ImageThink! This is the cover to our internal training manual, it features an old time circus strongman. From wikipedia: “Training for competitions, strongmen would train the entire body for strength. Like any sport, it is necessary to train using the equipment one encounters in the sport. In the case of strongman, these include logs, tires, yokes, farmer’s walk implements, etc.; building strength in the gym alone is insufficient.” Graphic recording is also a feat of strength; mentally and physically! We begin with muscle control and memory, then gaining familiarity with the tools (markers, boards, rolls […]

Meet the ImageThink Team – Maria Delgado

July 29, 2014

Have you ever wondered, “Who are the people at ImageThink?” “Where did they come from?” “What is their favorite film?” We’re pleased to answer all of these questions (and more!) in the best way we know how: Infographics and Graphic Recording! We’re starting off with our Manager of Finance and Operations: Maria Delgado. Her background is in Medieval Manuscripts, which were an early form of Graphic Recording. Most of these were made on the best quality of parchment called Vellum. They are considered the best surviving specimens of medieval painting. Maria has dubbed herself the “Dark Mistress of Finance” and was […]
