This week we’re headed to Pittsburgh for the annual conference of the International Forum of Visual Practitioners (IFVP). It is the only conference of it’s kind, bringing together this growing community of graphic recorders and facilitators.
Throughout the conference
ImageThink’s own Heather Willems was honored to be asked to join Johnny Goldstein of Envisualize as co-emcee for the entire conference this year.
Doctor’s Hours, Wednesday at 3:30
There are many new people entering the visual practitioner community who are hungry for practical advice on everything from marketing their services to their portfolio. Nora proposed a session format that would connect them to the people who might have some answers.
The Doctor’s Hours session will allow newer visual professionals to sign up for four rounds of 15-minute one-on-one’s with more experienced practitioners.
This format was something that Heather and Nora both found extremely helpful when they attended professional conferences for artists.
Business Panel, Friday lunch session
Both Heather and Nora will be participating in what will likely be a rich discussion of the business of graphic recording and facilitation. As business owners, they have a lot to share about how this industry is changing and how to successfully navigate the challenges of running this type of business. Bring your questions!
We’ll also share highlights from this year’s conference here on the blog — including photos from the costume party Thursday night at Pittsburgh’s Warhol Museum. Stay tuned!
