ImageThink Visual Communication Workshop at RISD

Visual Communication Workshop at RISD

Thinking, Working and Communicating Visually

New York Peace Institute has asked us to provide a 1-day graphic recording training. The The New York Peace Institute is committed to promoting peace in our communities, but this workshop is open to mediators and anyone in the public that is interested in learning how to use visuals to improve communication. You will learn basic principles of visual recording that you can draw upon during meetings, team huddles, presentations, or just for fun.  Can you only draw a stick figure? No problem! We will focus on how simple visuals can be used to support and clarify complex ideas. No prior experience is necessary. You will be on your feet with a marker in hand for the duration of the workshop. Get ready to have a lot of fun and learn some valuable collaboration skills.

What You Will Learn:

      • Improve the quality of your communication by using visuals
      • Increased confidence with a pen and marker
      • Learn simple visual techniques to better collaborate with others
      • Practice active listening and synthesizing skills
      • Build a foundation of visual metaphors and icons to illustrate common concepts

Training Buzz “When I left the workshop I thanked Heather and Nora profusely.  Their facilitation approach, their interactive style, their non-judgment and their continuous encouragement were so rewarding. Based on this experience, I would give the highest recommendation possible for anyone to spend an afternoon with ImageThink to learn about how each of us is truly, deeply, already a visual thinker.” ~ Jean Tabaka, Agile Fellow, Rally Software, Boulder, CO
